Christian BOUPASSIA is President of the Mining Union of Gabon (UMIGA) and Director General of the Ecole des Mines et de la Métallurgie de Moanda – Gabon (E3MG), a higher establishment resulting from the partnership between the Gabonese State and the Compagnie Minière de l’Ogooué (Comilog) subsidiary of the French mining group Eramet. After obtaining a PhD on the theme of the study of soils and mining residues in the region of Moanda in south-east Gabon: prospects for the rehabilitation of the manganese-bearing plateau of Bangombé at the University of Burgundy, He integrates the Comilog as a Geologist detached to the polymetallic deposit project of Niobium and rare earth of Mabounié (Lambaréné). He returned as a Career Engineering Engineer, then Head of Careers Group and Operations Manager.

He then joined the Eramet group as Head of Mines in the Maboumine project team, before returning as Deputy Director and Head of Production Department at the Industrial Complex of Moanda (CIM). He will then join the Technical and Operational Excellence Department as Head of Exploration and Mining Planning DepartmentLong-term, in charge of the geological survey of all peripheral deposits and the planning of their joint exploitation. After the revival of exploration outside concessions, he took over the E3MG, which he combined with UMIGA, an association bringing together a dozen companies in research and mining. Passionate about the world of rocks, and known for its rigor, his field of expertise includes research and exploration, mining, evaluation and exploitation of mineral resources.
