Geological Engineer by profession, Dr. Rokhaya Samba DIENE holds a Doctorate degree in Applied Geology from Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar. Specialized in Public Administration of Mines from the National School of Mines in Paris and holder of an Executive MBA in Finance and Advanced Management from the West African Polytechnic University in Dakar, she successfully completed in 2011, the course on Regulation and Management of Mineral Resources from Curtin University in Australia, and in 2012, the course on “Mining Policy and Commercial Negotiations” from IDEP.

Appointed Director of Prospecting and Mining Promotion in 2015, she has successively served as Head of the Documentation Center and Mining Cadastre, Head of the Mines and Quarries Division, and Head of the Regional Department of Mines and Geology in Dakar. Dr. Diène has coordinated the Africa-Europe Geo-resources Observation Project (AEGOS), the Institutional Diagnostic Program of the Ministry of Mines, and the Legal and Fiscal Framework Diagnostic of the Mining Sector, as well as the organization of the 5 editions of the International Mining Exhibition of SENEGAL
